This brightly colored flower pin has a center made from a cobalt blue Oreo cookie tin. Curving exuberant orange plastic is hand cut from post-consumer plastic waste. from orange juice containers. (Orange plastic from orange juice is no longer available. ) The orange plastic looks dangerous and pointy to wear, but it is soft and durable. In reality, plastic waste is very dangerous to our environment because of it’s indestructible nature.

The back of the pin has the text “vintage jazz” on orange that resonates with the orange plastic detail. The sturdy commercial pin stem is artfully concealed. My hallmark - a domestic iron, is stamped into the back of the pin.
