Losing Depth of Field in a Scene Stealing Moment

$1,550.00

This dramatic Flower Brooch uses post-consumer film cannisters which I am seeing with new eyes in a new series of Flower Pins. It also include post-consumer black  plastic from take out trays for the pointy shapes. While the black points look threatening sharp and dangerous, the take out tray plastic is extremely durable. It will not hurt you or your clothing. This plastic waste is very dangerous for the environment so the pointy threatening shapes are a fitting metaphor.

The layers start in the center with green Reflex color negative 400 film canister, the next layer is black tin. The third layers is constructed from multiple purple color film 400 film canisters. The background is a metallic greens tin the background is post consumer black plastic from take out .

The back of the pin is beautiful with a purple center QR code from a purple film canister and recycled tin cans that match the color theme perfectly. On the back of the pin, look for the Iron Hallmark for Harriete Estel Berman which is the shape of a domestic iron with a cord and plug. This pin is crafted from recycled materials, promoting sustainability and eco-friendliness. The design is unique to my work.

If you wear this pin, it will definitely open the conversation. The colors are extraordinary.

Flower 152 This is newer work which is larger, and more labor intensive. Working with the film cannisters only provides small pieces of material. The flower pin itself is 3.75”. largest dimension of the black plastic tip to tip is 7”.

I do not discount my work or have sales with reduced prices.

The fabrication techniques have evolved from working with tin cans for over 38 years. If you are buying these Flower Pins online directly from my store, you are supporting this artist.

The “store” should automatically charge you tax if you are in California, and a packing shipping fee that will cover shipping costs. If there is a mistake we can correct it.
