Living in a Vacuum is constructed from copper and brass with either paint or nickel-plated finish by Harriete Estel Berman. Red acetate visible through pierced metal trim.

The end of the vacuum opens to reveal a solitary chair sitting alone. Interior details of vacuum are painted walls, switch for light bulb, etched copper floor and chair.
